The class is exploring different career paths in the Math and Science fields.  They are working on projects that allow them to explore their pursuit of passions. 

Pursuit' of' Passion allows students to explore the relationship between their personal interests and future opportunities.  By connecting the two, students will gain well rounded perspectives that help guide them toward professional or academic future goals.  

We have a group that is interested in learning more about the career of a Cardiologist.

Key Questions

  • What are some examples where Math and/or Science studies have been used in the everyday life of a Cardiologist?
  • What university/college did the Cardiologist attend?
  • What is the most interesting case the Cardiologist has assisted/led?
  • Is teamwork essential in the career of a Cardiologist?
  • When did you know that you were interested in becoming a Cardiologist?

Expected Outcomes

Our students would like to learn about

  • the learning pathway that it takes to become a Cardiologist
  • Interest facts/highlights about the career of a Cardiologist
  • How Math and Science are used in the career
  • how do Cardiologist continue their learning once they have finalized their collegiate studies.

Sorry but i do not think this is an appropriate discussion for 5th graders. I do not think such a specialized choice is relevant at that age.
