Our school has adopted PBL (project based learning) in all classrooms. Therefore, we are creating lessons/projects aligned to our TEKS that our students are researching and learning about independently. One of our PBL steps is having a “hook” so that students will become interested in the project. On this particular project we were trying to bring in someone who has knowledge about rocks, why they are important, and how people make a career out of investigating rocks. We want someone who has a lot of personality and can truly engage our students J. The standard ask students to identify size, texture, and color of rocks. We are still working out all the details of our project but the idea is to have students create “rock bands”(song/video) that explain size, texture, and color of rocks.
How do geologists classify rocks? What makes rocks 'different'? Why is it important to know about rocks?

Leaving honest feedback and rating gives members a good idea of what to expect when dealing with other members. Leaving Feedback is also a way to express your appreciation for a session well done.

Why we record sessions?
We are requesting permission to record, edit and make available each virtual interaction because teachers like to review the session with students for better understanding of material, assign it to students for homework in a blended learning model or just share it with other classrooms that cannot attend a live session. As a professional your volunteering hours go further when a recording is made available for reuse in education.
