Description

Our school has adopted PBL (project based learning) in all classrooms.  Therefore, we are creating lessons/projects aligned to our TEKS that our students are researching and learning about independently. One of our PBL steps is having a “hook” so that students will become interested in the project.
On this particular project we were trying to bring in someone who has knowledge about rocks, why they are important, and how people make a career out of investigating rocks. We want someone who has a lot of personality and can truly engage our students J. The standard ask students to identify size, texture, and color of rocks. We are still working out all the details of our project but the idea is to have students create “rock bands”(song/video) that explain size, texture, and color of rocks.
